Are you working on exciting engineering research in sustainability? Do you believe that scientific innovation shouldn't come at the cost of our environment?
We would love to hear about your research journey!
The Sustainability Research Showcase, organized by the Engineering and Computer Science Library, will promote graduate students’ outstanding research in sustainability. Participants will present 20 minute talks about their research and information-seeking process to peers, colleagues, and faculty. This event is part of an ongoing initiative to highlight the often invisible and quiet labour of information-seeking that underpins the rigorous research that happens in our departments. Presenters will receive the Engineering and Computer Science Library Sustainable Research Award, which would be an impressive addition to your CVs! Not only will this event acknowledge your engagement with the research process, research ethics, and interest in sustainable innovation, but it will also provide an opportunity for you to build presentation and public communication skills.
To be eligible, applicants must:
1. Be Graduate Students of the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering and/or Department of Computer Science
2. Have a component of sustainability imbedded in their research project
3. Be returning as a student in Fall 2025 and/or Winter 2026
We are planning for the showcase to be held at the Engineering and Computer Science Library in the coming Fall 2025 term with a possibility of it becoming a monthly series.
We hope to showcase 3 researchers or research teams for this inaugural event.
